The vineyard's name, meaning 'golden pit,' refers to the exceptional sun exposure and the historic value of its wines. Here, ancient, ungrafted Riesling vines dig deep into the weathered grey slate soils. Established in 2000 by the late Swiss winemaker Daniel Vollenweider, Weingut Vollenweider is located in Traben-Trarbach in the Mosel region of Germany.
