Crafted as an exclusive collaboration between the pioneering biodynamic estate Weingut Wittmann and the historic Lübeck wine merchant Carl Tesdorpf—whose trading heritage dates back to 1678—this Weisser Burgunder (Pinot Blanc) showcases the elegant, mineral-driven side of Rheinhessen. Sourced from meticulously farmed vineyards in Westhofen, where limestone soils impart a distinctive tension and chalky precision, the wine is fermented using native yeasts and matured in traditional, large neutral oak casks. This classic craftsmanship coaxes out delicate aromas of yellow orchard fruits, fresh almonds, and subtle white blossoms, balanced by a vibrant acidity and a textured, creamy finish that reflects the Wittmann family's deep respect for their terroir.

🍾 wine.about_producer

With a winegrowing heritage in the Rheinhessen village of Westhofen dating back to 1663, Weingut Wittmann is a pioneering force in German biodynamic viticulture, having committed to organic practices in 1990 and biodynamics in 2004. Managed today by Philipp Wittmann alongside his family, the estate is globally revered for its precise, terroir-driven dry Rieslings sourced from legendary Grosses Gewächs sites like Morstein, Kirchspiel, and Aulerde. In their historic vaulted cellar built in 1829, the wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in traditional large oak casks, resulting in structured, mineral-rich expressions of outstanding longevity.
