Wolfberger's 'La Louve' Pinot Noir is a tribute to both the wild heritage of Alsace and the cooperative's namesake, the wolf, which once freely roamed the Vosges Mountains. While Alsace is world-renowned for its white wines, its cool-climate Pinot Noir has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. 'La Louve' (The She-Wolf) represents a bolder, more structured expression of Alsatian Pinot Noir. Sourced from selected clay-limestone vineyards around Eguisheim, the grapes undergo traditional vinification followed by aging in French oak barrels. This wood contact imparts a velvety texture, subtle spice, and structured tannins to the wine's vibrant core of dark cherry and wild berry fruit, bridging the gap between Alsatian freshness and Burgundian complexity.
