Wolfberger, established in 1902 in the historic village of Eguisheim, is a cornerstone of Alsace winemaking and distillation heritage. Beyond their celebrated wines and Crémants, Wolfberger preserves the ancestral Alsatian tradition of crafting exceptional fruit liqueurs. 'Myrtille' (Blueberry) is a specialty liqueur born from this expertise. It is crafted by macerating wild mountain blueberries—traditionally hand-harvested from the slopes of the Vosges Mountains—in high-quality spirit, allowing the pure, deep essence of the forest fruit to infuse. This time-honored process captures the intense, slightly tart, and deeply aromatic profile of the wild berries, balanced with a delicate sweetness. Wolfberger blev grundlagt i 1902 i den historiske landsby Eguisheim, da en gruppe fremsynede lokale vinbønder slog sig sammen om at skabe et af Alsaces mest markante og indflydelsesrige kooperativer. Huset har altid været en pioner inden for regional nytænkning og spillede blandt andet en afgørende rolle ved den officielle etablering af Crémant d'Alsace AOC i 1976, hvor århundreders traditioner blev forenet med moderne vinfremstilling. Wolfberger forvalter i dag en omfattende mosaik af terroirs i Alsace med stort fokus på bæredygtig vindyrkning og minutiøs parcellokalisering. Huset er bredt anerkendt for sine klassiske enkeltdruevine – heriblandt aromatisk Gewurztraminer, mineralsk Riesling og velstruktureret Pinot Noir – samt elegante mousserende Crémant-vine, rigt koncentrerede Vendanges Tardives og traditionelt frugtbrændevin.
