Xavier Vignon’s Arcane VI Les Amoureux (The Lovers) is a masterclass in Southern Rhône blending, inspired by the Tarot card of the same name which symbolizes union, harmony, and choice. Breaking traditional appellation rules, Vignon crafts this cuvée as a multi-vintage, multi-terroir blend that unites five of the region's most prestigious Crus: Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Rasteau, Beaumes de Venise, and Lirac. By blending these distinct terroirs—each bringing its own unique soil profile, from clay-limestone to sandy soils—and combining multiple exceptional vintages, Vignon achieves a profound harmony of power, elegance, and complexity. The wine undergoes meticulous aging in concrete tanks and oak barrels to preserve the vibrant fruit character while polishing the tannins, resulting in a deeply expressive, velvety red that captures the soulful essence of the Southern Rhône.
