Formulated around ancient bush-vine parcels, this bottling reflects the classical Mediterranean conditions of the Rhône basin. In 2000, warm spring temperatures promoted steady flowering across the valley, followed by a hot, arid summer moderated by periodic Mistral winds that maintained exceptional berry health. Deep-rooted Grenache vines on limestone marl and alluvial galets roulés achieved full phenolic ripeness alongside complementary Syrah and Mourvèdre. Following fermentation in temperature-controlled vats with gentle pump-overs to manage extractive pressure, the wine matured in seasoned French oak casks and concrete vats to integrate tertiary complexity while preserving intrinsic garrigue character and structural acidity.

Founded in the Rhône Valley in 1999 by preeminent consulting oenologist Xavier Vignon, Maison Xavier Vignon operates as an innovative négociant and estate producer that challenges traditional regional conventions. Combining over 30 hectares of proprietary vineyards—concentrated around Beaumes-de-Venise and parcels across Vacqueyras and Châteauneuf-du-Pape—with long-term grower partnerships, Vignon explores diverse Southern Rhône terroirs characterized by galets roulés, limestone marl, and elevated mountain terraces.
