Crafted by the historic Yamazaki Distillery, Japan's pioneer in malt whisky production founded by Shinjiro Torii in 1923, this rare Pure Malt Saxophone Bottling is a legendary collector's release. Housed in an exquisitely designed decanter shaped like a saxophone, it pays homage to the harmonious relationship between the art of blending and the rhythm of music. The liquid inside represents Yamazaki's signature pure malt style, characterized by meticulous distillation in copper pot stills and aging in a combination of casks, including rare Japanese Mizunara oak. This results in a complex, deeply aromatic spirit featuring notes of dried fruit, sandalwood, incense, and a gentle spice that reflects the unique microclimate of the Yamazaki vale, where three rivers meet to create a misty, humid environment perfect for slow maturation.

Yamazaki Distillery blev grundlagt i 1923 af Suntory-skaberen Shinjiro Torii og troner ved foden af Tennozan-bjerget i Shimamoto, Osaka, som Japans første kommercielle single malt-destilleri. Beliggenheden, hvor floderne Katsura, Uji og Kizu mødes, blev nøje udvalgt på grund af det usædvanligt bløde, rene kildevand samt det tågede, fugtige mikroklima, der skaber optimale betingelser for fadlagring.
