Yamazaki's location was chosen for its legendary soft water, famously praised by the historic tea master Sen no Rikyu. This highly sought-after bottling celebrates the profound influence of rare Mizunara (Japanese oak) casks. The master blenders at Suntory selected vibrant single malts aged in virgin Mizunara casks, blending them with seasoned malt whiskies to create a profile rich with sandalwood, oriental incense, coconut, and subtle spice. It stands as a tribute to Japanese craftsmanship and the unique microclimate of the Yamazaki valley, where damp mists provide the ideal conditions for cask maturation.
