This legendary 25-year-old single malt highlights the mystical influence of Mizunara oak (Quercus crispula). Originally used out of necessity during World War II when import casks were scarce, Mizunara was initially deemed too porous and intensely spicy. However, Suntory's master blenders discovered that extended aging of a quarter-century or more transforms this temperamental wood, imparting sublime, sacred notes of temple incense, sandalwood, coconut, and kara (Japanese agarwood).
