Crafted primarily from Corvina and Rondinella, with touches of Oseleta and Croatina, the grapes undergo a meticulous appassimento process, drying on bamboo racks for months to concentrate their sugars, acids, and flavors. What sets the Archivio Storico apart is the Zenato family's dedication to extreme patience; these select lots are aged in large Slavonian oak casks for an astonishing decade or more before bottling. This extraordinary maturation process pays homage to the legacy of founder Silvano Zenato, who championed the monumental aging potential of the region's wines. Founded in 1960 by Sergio Zenato and his wife Carla, the Zenato winery is situated on the morainic hills of Lake Garda in San Benedetto di Lugana, Veneto, Italy. Today, the estate is managed by their children, Alberto and Francesca, who continue to champion the unique terroirs of both Lugana and Valpolicella.
