Crafted only in outstanding vintages, the Sergio Zenato Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva stands as a monument to the visionary founder who helped redefine the Veneto wine landscape in the 1960s. Sourced from the oldest, low-yielding vines of the Costalunga estate in Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, this wine is a traditional blend dominated by Corvina, alongside Rondinella, Oseleta, and Croatina. The grapes undergo the ancient appassimento process, drying in dedicated lofts for three to four months to concentrate sugars, acids, and phenolics. Following a slow, cool fermentation, the wine is aged for at least four years in large Slavonian oak casks, resulting in an incredibly complex, velvety masterpiece layered with notes of dark cherry, cocoa, and exotic spice, reflecting the limestone-clay soils of its historic terroir.

Vingården Zenato blev grundlagt i 1960 af Sergio Zenato og hans hustru Carla. Ejendommen ligger i Peschiera del Garda ved Gardasøens historiske sydlige bred og forener vintraditionerne fra både Veneto og Lombardiet. Drevet af en dyb passion for det lokale terroir og oprindelige druesorter blev Sergio en banebrydende pioner, der for alvor forløste Turbiana-druens potentiale til at skabe hvidvine i verdensklasse i Lugana, hvorefter han udvidede familiens besiddelser til de prestigefyldte skråninger i Valpolicella Classica. I dag videreføres familiens stolte arv med stor dedikation af børnene Alberto og Nadia Zenato, som fastholder det kompromisløse fokus på minutiøst markarbejde og klassisk vinmagerkunst. Zenato er verdenskendt for sine skoledannende vine, herunder den mineralske Lugana Riserva Sergio Zenato, den overdådige Amarone della Valpolicella Classico og enkeltmarks-Corvinaen Cresasso.
