β¨ Technical Specifications
Hailing from the historic Veneto region, Zonin's 'Maso Laito' is a classic expression of Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore. The Zonin family, with winemaking roots stretching back to 1821, crafts this red using the traditional 'ripasso' technique. In this time-honored process, a young, vibrant Valpolicella wine made from Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes is re-fermented over the warm, dried grape skins leftover from the production of Amarone. This second fermentation infuses the wine with deeper color, velvety tannins, and complex aromas of dark cherries, dried plums, and sweet spices. The grapes are sourced from selected hillside vineyards in the Valpolicella zone, where clay and limestone soils impart a distinct mineral backbone and elegant structure to this robust red.
