Finca Mirador is one of Achaval-Ferrer's legendary single-vineyard Malbecs, sourced from a centenarian vineyard planted in 1921 in the Medrano region of Mendoza. Unlike its sibling Finca Altamira, which thrives on stony soils, Mirador is defined by its heavy clay-loam soils and a slightly warmer microclimate. This unique terroir yields an incredibly dark, voluptuous, and structured Malbec. The ancient, ungrafted vines produce minuscule yields of highly concentrated fruit, which are fermented with minimal intervention and aged in 100% new French oak barrels. The result is a wine of profound depth, showcasing black fruit, graphite, and spice, representing a masterclass in Argentine terroir expression.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1998 by Santiago Achával and Manuel Ferrer Minetti, alongside renowned Italian winemaker Roberto Cipresso, Achaval-Ferrer is a pioneering estate located in the Perdriel district of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. The winery is celebrated for its unwavering dedication to preserving Argentina's viticultural heritage, focusing on centenarian, ungrafted vineyards that produce exceptionally low yields. Utilizing minimal intervention and aging in French oak barrels, Achaval-Ferrer crafts profound, terroir-driven red wines that showcase the diverse microclimates of Mendoza. Their portfolio is anchored by the critically acclaimed single-vineyard Malbec trilogy—Finca Altamira, Finca Bella Vista, and Finca Mirador—as well as Quimera, a meticulously structured Bordeaux-style blend.
