✨ Technical Specifications
The 'Bourgogne Grand Ordinaire' appellation, established in 1937 and recently largely succeeded by Coteaux Bourguignons, represents the historic, everyday drinking wine of Burgundy. Far from being 'ordinary' in a negative sense, the name historically denoted the reliable, 'ordinary' or regular table wine enjoyed daily by Burgundian families and vineyard workers. Albert Bichot's expression of this traditional style is crafted to be light, approachable, and joyfully fruit-forward. By blending Pinot Noir and Gamay, the wine captures the vibrant energy of Burgundy's terroir without the need for heavy oak aging. Vinified primarily in stainless steel or large neutral vats, it emphasizes bright red fruit notes, soft tannins, and a refreshing acidity that pays homage to the region's rustic, convivial heritage.
