✨ wine.spec_sheet

Crafted by the legendary Allegrini family, pioneers of modern winemaking in the Veneto, Belpasso Rosso is a vibrant tribute to the region's historic appassimento tradition. The name 'Belpasso' translates to 'beautiful step,' hinting at the gentle, measured pace of partially drying the grapes to concentrate their sugars and flavors. This red blend—primarily composed of indigenous Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, and Rondinella—is sourced from hillside vineyards rich in clay and limestone. By utilizing a short appassimento phase for a portion of the grapes, Allegrini coaxes out rich notes of dark cherry, plum, and subtle sweet spices while maintaining a fresh, balanced acidity. It represents a harmonious bridge between the historic richness of Valpolicella's dried-grape heritage and a contemporary, highly approachable style.

🍾 wine.about_producer

With a winemaking heritage in the Valpolicella region dating back to the 16th century, Allegrini is one of Italy's most prestigious and pioneering estates, located in the heart of Fumane di Valpolicella. Under the visionary leadership of the late Giovanni Allegrini and subsequently his children, the family revolutionized local viticulture by introducing high-density Guyot vine training and single-vineyard expressions like the iconic La Grola and the pure Corvina bottling, La Poja. The estate is celebrated for its masterful execution of the traditional appassimento technique for Amarone della Valpolicella, alongside modern innovations like Palazzo della Torre and the approachable Corte Giara line. Today, Allegrini remains a benchmark of quality, combining deep respect for Veneto's terroir with a relentless pursuit of elegance, structure, and complexity.
