✨ wine.spec_sheet
Grappa di Tignanello is a refined Italian spirit crafted from the pomace of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes harvested from the renowned Tignanello vineyard in the heart of Tuscany's Chianti Classico region. The Antinori family, pioneers of the Tuscan wine renaissance, apply the same rigorous standards to this distillate as they do to their legendary Super Tuscan wine. Immediately after the fermentation of the grapes for Tignanello, the moist, aromatic pomace is drawn off and sent to the distillery. Here, it is distilled using traditional copper steam alembic stills, a meticulous process that captures the volatile aromatic compounds of the grapes. The resulting spirit is clear, elegant, and intensely aromatic, offering notes of dried flowers, red berries, and a hint of spice, reflecting the unique terroir of the Tignanello estate.
🍾 wine.about_producer
Tracing its winemaking heritage back to 1385 when Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Florentine Winemakers' Guild, Marchesi Antinori has been shaped by twenty-six generations of family leadership. Headquartered in the heart of Chianti Classico, the family has expanded its portfolio across prestigious estates in Tuscany, Umbria, and beyond, driven by a philosophy that balances deep historical respect with bold innovation. Antinori famously pioneered the "Super Tuscan" movement in the 1970s, introducing revolutionary French oak aging and international varieties to create iconic labels like Tignanello and Solaia. Today, their diverse portfolio spans from the elegant Sangiovese of Badia a Passignano to the acclaimed white blend Cervaro della Sala, cementing their legacy as global ambassadors of Italian fine wine.
