The 2018 Tignanello is a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc, sourced from the Tignanello estate in the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany. The vineyard is situated at an altitude of 350 to 400 meters on soils rich in limestone and schist (alberese and galestro). The 2018 growing season was characterized by a rainy spring followed by a warm, dry summer, allowing for a gradual and balanced ripening of the grapes. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in oak barrels and was aged for approximately 14 to 16 months in a combination of French and Hungarian oak barrels, followed by an additional 12 months of bottle aging prior to release.
