The 2019 Tignanello is sourced from the estate's namesake vineyard in the Chianti Classico region, characterized by limestone and schist-rich soils (galestro and alberese) at elevations between 350 and 400 meters. The blend consists of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc. The 2019 growing season in Tuscany featured a cool spring followed by a warm, dry summer with favorable diurnal temperature variations, allowing for slow and balanced ripening. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in oak barrels and was aged for approximately 14 to 16 months in a combination of French and Hungarian oak barrels, followed by an additional 12 months of bottle refinement prior to release.
