Averys of Bristol has a centuries-old tradition of sourcing exceptional wines to bottle under their own historic label. For their Rioja Crianza, they collaborate with established growers in Spain's premier wine region, selecting parcels that embody the classic, fruit-forward yet structured character of Rioja. This Crianza style undergoes traditional aging—spending at least one year in oak casks followed by further refinement in the bottle. This process tempers the vibrant red fruit of the Tempranillo grape with subtle notes of vanilla, sweet spice, and toasted oak. The result is a testament to the historic connection between British merchants and the cellars of Rioja, delivering an elegant, accessible, and deeply traditional expression of the region.

Averys blev grundlagt i Bristol i 1793 og hører til blandt Storbritanniens ældste og mest agtede vinhandlere og négociants. Gennem generationer har visionære personligheder som Ronald Avery og sønnen John Avery MW opbygget huset, der var blandt de første til at opdage og importere toneangivende vine direkte fra klassiske europæiske områder og fremadstormende oversøiske terroirs. Averys er berømt for sin historiske ekspertise inden for fadlagring og aftapning på egne kældre. I dag kuraterer og fremstiller huset en alsidig portefølje, der favner alt fra prestigefyldte bordeauxvine, bourgogne grand crus og champagne til årgangsportvin, madeira og udsøgt cognac.
