Hailing from the sun-drenched plains of Borba in the Alentejo region, Quinta da Terrugem Alabastro Reserva Tinto is a tribute to the area's famous white marble and alabaster quarries. The name 'Alabastro' evokes the unique geological makeup of the vineyards, where clay-limestone soils infused with marble fragments impart a distinctive mineral elegance to the vines. Produced by Bacalhoa, this Reserva showcases the traditional art of Alentejo blending, combining local varieties that thrive in the hot days and cool nights of Borba. The wine undergoes careful fermentation followed by aging in oak casks, resulting in a rich, full-bodied profile with deep dark fruit aromas, subtle spice, and well-integrated tannins that reflect the rustic yet refined heritage of Portuguese winemaking.
