Quinta do Carmo, situated in the historic municipality of Estremoz within the Alentejo region, boasts a rich heritage that once saw a landmark partnership with the legendary Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) in the late 20th century. This collaboration infused traditional Portuguese winemaking with classic French elegance. The Quinta do Carmo Reserva Branco represents the pinnacle of the estate's white winemaking, drawing from vineyards planted on complex soils of clay, schist, and limestone. To craft this sophisticated Reserva, the hand-harvested grapes undergo careful temperature-controlled fermentation, with a significant portion aging in French oak barrels on fine lees with regular battonage. This technique imparts a creamy texture, structural complexity, and subtle toasted notes that beautifully complement the vibrant, sun-drenched fruit character of the Alentejo terroir.

Det berømte vinhus har rødder tilbage til 1922, hvor det blev grundlagt under navnet João Pires & Filhos, inden det sidenhen blev omdøbt til Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal. Hovedsædet ligger i Vila Nogueira de Azeitão på Península de Setúbal. Vingården ejes i dag af Berardo-familien, som har udvidet aktiviteterne til Portugals ypperste vinregioner – herunder Douro, Dão, Bairrada og Alentejo. Her forenes en stolt historisk arv og imponerende kunstsamlinger med topmoderne vindyrkning.
