Hailing from the sun-drenched Peninsula de Setubal, the Bacalhoa Roxo Superior 10 Anos is a testament to the resurrection of a nearly lost treasure: the Moscatel Roxo grape. Once on the brink of extinction due to its low yields and delicate nature, this rare pink-skinned mutation of Moscatel was painstakingly revived by dedicated local growers. The wine undergoes a traditional fortified process where grape spirit halts fermentation, followed by an extended winter maceration on the skins to extract intense aromatic complexity. It is then aged for a minimum of 10 years in seasoned oak casks in the estate's historic cellars. This slow oxidation coaxes out deep amber hues and a mesmerizing bouquet of bitter orange peel, honey, dried figs, and roasted nuts, wrapped in a rich, velvety texture.
