✨ Technical Specifications

Bacardi Carta Blanca Superior White Rum, though categorized here under 'Other', is one of the most iconic distilled spirits in history. Established in Santiago de Cuba in 1862 by Don Facundo Bacardí Massó, this spirit revolutionized the rum industry. Don Facundo pioneered charcoal filtration and purposeful aging in white oak barrels to create a smooth, light, and mixable white rum, departing from the harsh 'aguardientes' of the era. The famous bat logo on the label was inspired by the fruit bats nesting in the rafters of the original distillery, a symbol of good fortune and family unity. Following the Cuban Revolution, production transitioned to Puerto Rico, where it is crafted today at the massive Cataño distillery. It features a delicate balance of sweet vanilla, fresh citrus, and light herbal notes, achieved through a proprietary yeast strain and double filtration.

🍾 About the Producer

Established in Santiago de Cuba in 1862 by Don Facundo Bacardí Massó, Bacardí revolutionized rum production by introducing proprietary cultured yeast strains, continuous column distillation, and pioneering charcoal filtration to yield a refined, light-bodied spirit. Following the expropriation of family assets during the Cuban Revolution, operations transitioned to Puerto Rico, centering on the monumental Casa Bacardí facility in Cataño—affectionately known as the "Cathedral of Rum." Situated along San Juan Bay, the distillery leverages tropical maritime maturation, where elevated Caribbean heat and humidity accelerate ester development and barrel extraction in charred American white oak casks. The house employs both aguardiente (a robust, aromatic spirit) and redestilado (a pristine neutral distillate), blended across successive charcoal filtration regimens to achieve crisp aromatic clarity. Masterful blending defines the signature portfolio, from the iconic mixable benchmark Carta Blanca and vanilla-touched Carta Oro to mature, complex sippers including Reserva Ocho and Gran Reserva Diez.
