✨ Technical Specifications

Banfi's sparkling wine heritage in Piedmont is anchored in the historic cellars of Strevi, acquired by the Mariani family in the late 1970s to complement their Tuscan estate. This Metodo Classico Brut represents a bridge between Piedmontese tradition and modern sparkling elegance. Crafted primarily from Pinot Nero, Chardonnay, and Pinot Bianco grown in the high-altitude, calcareous-clay soils of the Asti, Alessandria, and Cuneo provinces, the wine undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle. It is aged on its lees for an extended period, developing a fine, persistent perlage and a complex bouquet of green apple, white flowers, and toasted brioche. This cuvée honors Piedmont's long-standing history as the cradle of Italian sparkling wine, dating back to the mid-19th century.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1978 by Italian-American brothers John and Harry Mariani, Banfi is centered around the historic medieval fortress Castello di Poggio alle Mura in Montalcino, Tuscany. The estate played a pivotal role in the modern renaissance of Brunello di Montalcino through pioneering clonal research on Sangiovese, state-of-the-art vinification techniques, and dedicated environmental sustainability. Operating across prime vineyard sites in Tuscany and Piedmont, the winery harmonizes classic Italian heritage with modern precision. Banfi is internationally celebrated for its benchmark Brunello di Montalcino bottlings, expressive Super Tuscan blends such as Cum Laude and Belnero, and an expansive portfolio of elegant single-varietal and sparkling wines.
