Hailing from the sun-drenched, rolling hills of southern Montalcino, Castello Banfi's 'Cum Laude' is a masterfully crafted Super Tuscan that represents the pinnacle of the estate's extensive clonal research. The name itself, Latin for 'with honors,' pays homage to the rigorous academic approach Banfi applied to understanding the unique soils of their estate. This expressive red is a harmonious blend of four noble varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, and Syrah. Each grape is harvested and vinified separately, then aged in French oak barriques to achieve a complex, full-bodied profile. The result is a wine that beautifully marries the structure and elegance of international grapes with the vibrant, rustic soul of traditional Tuscan Sangiovese, reflecting the pioneering spirit that helped put Montalcino on the global wine map.
