Castello Banfi, established in 1978 by the Italian-American Mariani brothers, revolutionized Tuscan winemaking by combining traditional heritage with modern techniques. While famous for its Brunello, Banfi also pioneered the cultivation of international varieties in Tuscany's southern hills. 'Rime', which translates to 'rhymes' in Italian, represents the poetic harmony achieved by blending Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. Grown in estate vineyards characterized by clay and sandy soils under the warm Tuscan sun, the grapes benefit from cooling maritime breezes that preserve their natural acidity. Banfi blev grundlagt i 1978 af de italiensk-amerikanske brødre John og Harry Mariani og har sit hjerte omkring den historiske middelalderfæstning Castello di Poggio alle Mura i toscanske Montalcino.
