Castello Banfi, established in 1978 by the Italian-American Mariani brothers, played a pioneering role in modernizing Tuscan winemaking. Located in the southern hills of Montalcino, the estate combines state-of-the-art technology with deep respect for the land. 'Collepino'—named after the picturesque pine-covered hills characteristic of the Tuscan countryside—is an approachable, contemporary expression of the region. This red blend marries the structure and bright acidity of Tuscany's signature Sangiovese with the soft, velvety roundness of Merlot. Banfi blev grundlagt i 1978 af de italiensk-amerikanske brødre John og Harry Mariani og har sit hjerte omkring den historiske middelalderfæstning Castello di Poggio alle Mura i toscanske Montalcino.
