Anderra, a poetic portmanteau of 'Andes' and 'Tierra' (land), represents Baron Philippe de Rothschild's tribute to the dramatic terroirs of Chile. This Carmenere celebrates the extraordinary journey of a grape variety that was once a staple of Bordeaux but was thought lost to the phylloxera epidemic of the 19th century, only to be rediscovered thriving in Chile over a century later. Sourced from selected vineyards across the Central Valley, this wine is crafted using traditional winemaking expertise adapted to the Southern Hemisphere. It undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel to preserve its vibrant fruit character, resulting in a wine that beautifully balances Chilean intensity with Bordeaux-style elegance, marked by signature notes of black plum, cocoa, and subtle cracked black pepper.
