Hailing from the fertile soils of Chile's Central Valley, Mapu Reserva Chardonnay is a vibrant expression of South American terroir crafted with French winemaking expertise. The name 'Mapu' pays homage to the indigenous Mapuche people, meaning 'Earth' in their native tongue—a nod to the deep connection between the land and the vine. Baron Philippe de Rothschild established their Chilean presence to marry the exceptional natural conditions of the Central Valley with traditional Bordeaux savoir-faire. This Reserva Chardonnay is sourced from carefully selected vineyards where warm, sunny days are tempered by cool breezes from the Andes and the Pacific Ocean. To achieve its signature balance of fresh tropical fruit and elegant structure, the wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, with a portion of the blend aged in French oak barrels to impart a subtle creaminess and delicate notes of vanilla and toasted brioche.
