Hailing from the fertile soils of Chile's Central Valley, Mapu Reserva Chardonnay is a vibrant expression of South American terroir crafted with French winemaking expertise. The name 'Mapu' pays homage to the indigenous Mapuche people, meaning 'Earth' in their native tongue—a nod to the deep connection between the land and the vine. Baron Philippe de Rothschild established their Chilean presence to marry the exceptional natural conditions of the Central Valley with traditional Bordeaux savoir-faire. This Reserva Chardonnay is sourced from carefully selected vineyards where warm, sunny days are tempered by cool breezes from the Andes and the Pacific Ocean. To achieve its signature balance of fresh tropical fruit and elegant structure, the wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, with a portion of the blend aged in French oak barrels to impart a subtle creaminess and delicate notes of vanilla and toasted brioche.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA blev grundlagt i 1933 af den visionære Baron Philippe de Rothschild og er i dag et internationalt anerkendt vinhus med dybe rødder i Pauillac i Bordeaux. Ud over at stå i spidsen for det legendariske Premier Grand Cru Classé-slot Château Mouton Rothschild fremstiller huset skelsættende négociant- og ejendomsvine, som spænder fra Bordeaux og Languedoc til Maipo- og Casablanca-dalene i Chile. Tilgangen i vinmarkerne forener høje krav til bæredygtighed – herunder certificeringen Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) og en skånsom udvælgelse af parceller – med et kompromisløst fokus på druernes renhed og sortspræg. På tværs af Médocs maritime grusjorde, Languedocs kalkholdige lerjord og Chiles alluviale aflejringer, der køles af Stillehavet, skaber husets vinmagere friske, aromatiske og strukturerede hvidvine. Blandt de mest fremtrædende aftapninger finder man klassiske Bordeaux-blends som Sélection Agneau Blanc og Berger Baron Blanc, endruevine fra Languedoc på Viognier og Sauvignon Blanc samt chilenske fortolkninger som Escudo Rojo Chardonnay Reserva og Las Huertas Chardonnay.
