In 1930, Baron Philippe de Rothschild created Mouton Cadet, named in honor of his status as the cadet (youngest son) of the family, to make Bordeaux wine accessible to a wider audience. The Heritage cuvée is a special tribute to those historic origins, crafted to reflect the richer, more traditional style of the early 20th century. Sourced from selected parcels across the Bordeaux appellation, this blend is dominated by Merlot, which provides roundness and plush red fruit, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc for structure and spice. Unlike the standard Mouton Cadet, the Heritage cuvée undergoes partial aging in oak barrels, imparting subtle notes of toasted wood, spice, and refined tannins that honor the legacy of the Rothschild family's winemaking history.
