Founded in 1725 by Irish merchant Thomas Barton, Barton & Guestier is the oldest active wine house in Bordeaux, carrying nearly three centuries of history. Their Bordeaux Blanc is a classic expression of the region's white winemaking tradition, typically crafted from a traditional blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The Sauvignon Blanc provides vibrant acidity, fresh citrus, and herbaceous notes, while the Sémillon contributes body, texture, and delicate floral undertones. Established in 1725 by Irish merchant Thomas Barton—and subsequently partnered with Daniel Guestier in 1802—Barton & Guestier holds distinction as the oldest active négociant house in Bordeaux. Operating from its historic headquarters and educational hub at Château Magnol in the Haut-Médoc, the house farms thirty hectares of Cru Bourgeois gravel and sandy-loam soils certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE Level 3) and ISO 14001.
