Barton & Guestier, established in 1725 by Irish merchant Thomas Barton and later joined by French merchant Daniel Guestier in 1802, is the oldest active wine house in Bordeaux. Fonset-Lacour is a testament to this historic partnership, crafted to represent the classic, approachable style of Bordeaux. This red blend typically features a harmony of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from diverse clay-limestone and sandy soils across the appellation. Barton & Guestier blev grundlagt i 1725 af ireren Thomas Barton, og da den franske købmand Daniel Guestier trådte til i 1802, var grundlaget lagt for det, der i dag er Bordeaux' ældste vinhus. Négociant-huset har hovedsæde på det historiske Château Magnol i Blanquefort og arbejder tæt sammen med hundredvis af passionerede vinbønder.
