The Bedrock Heritage Red is the flagship bottling from Bedrock Wine Co., sourced from the historic Bedrock Vineyard in the heart of Sonoma Valley. Originally planted in 1854 by Generals William Tecumseh Sherman and Ninian Elizabeth, and replanted in 1888 by Senator George Hearst, this vineyard is a living archive of California's viticultural history. The wine is a classic, field-blended representation of these ancient, head-trained vines. While Zinfandel typically makes up the majority of the blend (around 50-60%), it is interplanted and co-fermented with over 20 other varieties, including Carignan, Mataro (Mourvèdre), Syrah, and Alicante Bouschet. This traditional field-blend method, favored by 19th-century immigrant farmers, creates a natural harmony, complexity, and structural balance that cannot be replicated by blending separate lots. The wine is fermented with native yeasts and aged in French oak barrels, resulting in a deeply expressive, savory, and multi-layered red with remarkable freshness, dark fruit character, and exotic spice notes.

Bedrock Wine Co. blev grundlagt i Sonoma, Californien, i 2007 af vinmageren Morgan Twain-Peterson MW med en dedikeret mission om at genoprette og bevare statens historiske vinmarker med gamle vinstokke. Med udgangspunkt i den legendariske Bedrock Vineyard i Sonoma Valley – som oprindeligt blev tilplantet i midten af det 19. århundrede – hylder Twain-Peterson og hans partner Chris Cottrell Californiens vinarv gennem en minimalistisk og terroir-drevet vinifikation. Vingården skaber vitale og stedtypiske vine på klassiske, historiske field blends såvel som traditionelle druesorter som Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon og Chardonnay. Bedrocks aftapninger er berømte for deres energi og autenticitet, og især den ikoniske Bedrock Heritage samt enkeltmarksvinene fra gamle vinstokke står i dag som uomgængelige pejlemærker for klassisk californisk vinkunst.
