The 'Coast to Foothills' Syrah from Bedrock Wine Co. is a brilliant liquid study in California's geographical contrasts. This cuvée masterfully bridges two distinct viticultural worlds: the chilly, marine-swept coastal vineyards of the state and the rugged, sun-drenched, high-elevation slopes of the Sierra Foothills. By blending fruit from cool-climate coastal sites—which lend the wine its signature cracked black pepper, fresh violet, and savory olive tapenade aromas—with the intense, dark-fruited, and structurally muscular grapes grown in volcanic foothill soils, Bedrock crafts a Syrah of remarkable tension and balance. Winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson MW utilizes traditional, low-intervention techniques including partial whole-cluster fermentation to enhance the wine's aromatic complexity and structure, followed by aging in mostly neutral French oak puncheons to ensure the pure expression of these diverse terroirs remains front and center.

Bedrock Wine Co. blev grundlagt i Sonoma, Californien, i 2007 af vinmageren Morgan Twain-Peterson MW med en dedikeret mission om at genoprette og bevare statens historiske vinmarker med gamle vinstokke. Med udgangspunkt i den legendariske Bedrock Vineyard i Sonoma Valley – som oprindeligt blev tilplantet i midten af det 19. århundrede – hylder Twain-Peterson og hans partner Chris Cottrell Californiens vinarv gennem en minimalistisk og terroir-drevet vinifikation.
