Perched at a breathtaking 2,100 feet elevation near the crest of Mt. Veeder in Napa Valley, Sky Vineyard is a legendary site defined by its rugged, volcanic soils and extreme high-altitude conditions. Planted by proprietor Lore Olds, this dry-farmed vineyard sits high above the fog line, basking in intense mountain sunlight while cooled by breezes from the San Pablo Bay. Bedrock Wine Co. crafts this exceptional Syrah to capture the wild, untamed spirit of this unique terroir. The wine is typically fermented with a high proportion of whole clusters to emphasize its savory, herbal complexity and structured tannins, then aged in mostly neutral French oak. The result is a deeply concentrated, savory Syrah marked by notes of cracked black pepper, dark mountain berries, iron-like minerality, and a distinctive alpine freshness that reflects its dramatic origin.

Bedrock Wine Co. blev grundlagt i Sonoma, Californien, i 2007 af vinmageren Morgan Twain-Peterson MW med en dedikeret mission om at genoprette og bevare statens historiske vinmarker med gamle vinstokke. Med udgangspunkt i den legendariske Bedrock Vineyard i Sonoma Valley – som oprindeligt blev tilplantet i midten af det 19. århundrede – hylder Twain-Peterson og hans partner Chris Cottrell Californiens vinarv gennem en minimalistisk og terroir-drevet vinifikation. Vingården skaber vitale og stedtypiske vine på klassiske, historiske field blends såvel som traditionelle druesorter som Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon og Chardonnay.
