✨ wine.spec_sheet

Bedrock Wine Co.’s Syrah is a testament to winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson MW’s deep-seated passion for Northern Rhône-style California Syrah. Sourced from some of the state's finest cool-climate vineyards—stretching from the wind-whipped Petaluma Gap to the marine-influenced soils of Santa Maria Valley—this wine rejects the over-extracted, jammy styles of the past. Instead, Bedrock champions a savory, classical expression. The winemaking process frequently incorporates whole-cluster fermentation to impart structure, fine-grained tannins, and a distinctive herbal complexity, often co-fermented with a tiny percentage of Viognier for aromatic lift. Aging takes place primarily in neutral French oak puncheons and barriques, allowing the pristine, peppery fruit, black olive tapenade, and smoked meat characteristics of the grape to shine through. It represents a thoughtful homage to the historic potential of California Syrah.
