Hailing from the acclaimed Weill a Way Vineyard in the Sonoma Valley, the Exposition Three Syrah is part of a fascinating terroir study by Bedrock Wine Co. Winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson MW designed the 'Exposition' series to showcase how different clonal selections, soil compositions, and slope aspects within a single vineyard can yield dramatically different expressions of Syrah. Exposition Three typically highlights the more structured, savory, and dark-fruited profile of the vineyard, often utilizing Alban or other heritage clones planted on steep, well-drained gravelly soils. Vinified with a thoughtful percentage of whole clusters to enhance aromatic complexity and structure, and aged in large-format neutral French oak puncheons, this wine delivers a classic Northern Rhône-style profile with a distinct California signature of black olive, cracked pepper, and smoked meats.
