✨ Technical Specifications

Hailing from the revered 'En Vasée' parcel in Montigny-les-Arsures, this Vin Jaune represents the pinnacle of Stéphane and Bénédicte Tissot's terroir-driven philosophy. The vineyard is characterized by dense, heavy Triassic clay soils, which impart a profound structural power and intense minerality to the wine. Crafted entirely from Savagnin, the grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation before embarking on a legendary aging journey. In accordance with Jura tradition, the wine is aged 'sous voile' (under a veil of flor yeast) in neutral oak barrels for at least six years and three months without any topping up (ouillage). This oxidative process, combined with the unique clay terroir, yields an extraordinarily complex masterpiece filled with notes of walnut, curry spice, dried stone fruits, and a piercing, saline acidity that reflects the ancient geological heritage of the Jura.

🍾 About the Producer

Established in 1962 by André and Mireille Tissot and taken over by their son Stéphane alongside his wife Bénédicte in 1990, Domaine Bénédicte & Stéphane Tissot is an iconic benchmark of the Jura region, located in the village of Montigny-lès-Arsures near Arbois, France. A relentless pioneer of organic and biodynamic viticulture, Stéphane transitioned the estate to biodynamics in the early 2000s, championing minimal-intervention cellar techniques and native yeast fermentations to reveal hyper-specific terroirs. The domaine produces an extraordinary array of wines spanning profound single-vineyard Chardonnays from sites like Clos de la Tour de Curon and La Mailloche, energetic Savagnins, traditional sous-voile Vin Jaune, vibrant reds from indigenous Trousseau and Poulsard, and exceptional Crémant du Jura such as Indigène. Celebrated for their mineral intensity, purity, and vibrant tension, the estate's artisanal bottlings have rightfully elevated the global reputation of Jura winemaking.
