Beringer's Alluvium Red is a classic Bordeaux-style blend hailing from the rugged, picturesque Knights Valley AVA in Sonoma County, California. Pioneered by the historic Beringer estate—which has been crafting wine since 1876—this proprietary blend is named after the gravelly, well-drained alluvial soils of the valley floor. These ancient volcanic and riverbed deposits force the vines to dig deep for water, resulting in small, highly concentrated berries. Typically led by Merlot and supported by Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, the wine is aged in French oak barrels to develop a plush, velvety texture. It beautifully captures the rustic elegance of Knights Valley, balancing rich dark fruit flavors with a refined, earthy complexity and supple tannins.
