The Appellation Collection Zinfandel pays homage to this deep Californian heritage, sourcing grapes from prime vineyards across celebrated California growing regions. This wine is crafted to showcase the classic, robust character of California Zinfandel. It typically features a blend dominated by Zinfandel, sometimes complemented by small portions of Petite Sirah or Syrah to enhance color and structure. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve its vibrant fruit character, the wine is then aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels. This process imparts subtle notes of vanilla, toasted oak, and warm baking spices to the rich core of brambly blackberry, dark plum, and signature cracked black pepper.
