The 'Luminus' Chardonnay, whose name translates to 'light' in Latin, is a modern expression of this legacy, crafted to showcase a brighter, more elegant side of Napa Valley Chardonnay. Sourced primarily from the Big Ranch Vineyard in the cool-climate Oak Knoll District AVA, the grapes benefit from the morning fog and maritime breezes rolling off San Pablo Bay. This unique terroir allows for a long, slow ripening period that preserves a vibrant, mineral-driven acidity. In the cellar, the wine undergoes barrel fermentation and aging in French oak with regular lees stirring (bâtonnage), striking a masterful balance between rich, creamy texture and crisp, luminous citrus and stone fruit flavors.
