Beringer Vineyards holds the distinction of being one of California's most historic estates, founded in 1876 by German brothers Jacob and Frederick Beringer. While famous for their estate-grown Napa wines, Beringer's California Merlot represents a classic, approachable expression of the varietal sourced from select vineyards across the state's sun-drenched valleys. This wine is crafted to highlight Merlot's naturally plush and velvety character, undergoing traditional fermentation and aging in a combination of French and American oak to impart subtle notes of sweet spice and vanilla. Beringer Vineyards blev grundlagt i 1876 af brødrene Jacob og Frederick Beringer og er i dag Californiens ældste kontinuerligt fungerende vinhus, beliggende i hjertet af St. Helena i Napa Valley. Som pionerer inden for tidlig vinproduktion i Napa udhuggede Beringer-brødrene kalkstensgrotter med håndkraft og etablerede kældre baseret på tyngdekraftsprincippet for at skabe raffinerede og lagringsværdige vine.
