The Private Reserve program was initiated in 1977 by legendary winemaker Myron Nightingale, who sought to craft a Cabernet Sauvignon of unparalleled depth and complexity by sourcing the finest fruit from Beringer's premier estate vineyards, including the high-elevation sites of Howell Mountain (such as Steinhauer and Bancroft Ranch) and the historic valley floor vineyards. Typically composed of nearly 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this iconic bottling is aged for approximately 18 to 24 months in new French oak barrels.
