Hailing from the historic Schweigener Sonnenberg, a vineyard famous for its unique cross-border geography spanning the boundary between the German Pfalz and French Alsace, this Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) is a masterclass in limestone-driven viticulture. The vines thrive on deep Kalkmergel (calcareous clay) soils, which impart a distinct, chalky minerality and vibrant acidity to the wine. Under the stewardship of the Bernhart family, the grapes are meticulously hand-harvested and fermented using traditional methods, often utilizing large oak casks (Doppelstück) and neutral tonneau to develop a creamy, textured mouthfeel while preserving the pristine, elegant orchard fruit character.
