✨ wine.spec_sheet

Crafted from the prestigious, cross-border Sonnenberg vineyard in Schweigen, this Grosses Gew$chs (GG) represents the pinnacle of dry German Weissburgunder. The specific parcel, 'RG' (Rundes Gewann), is celebrated for its ancient, heavy limestone-marl (Kalkmergel) soils that straddle the boundary between the German Pfalz and French Alsace. This unique Franco-German heritage is reflected in the wine's style, blending French textural elegance with German structural precision. Winemaker Gerd Bernhart employs traditional craftsmanship, fermenting and aging the wine in large oak casks (tonneaux) to develop a creamy, multi-layered texture while preserving the intense, chalky minerality and vibrant orchard fruit character that defines this historic terroir.
