The specific parcel, 'RG' (Rundes Gewann), is celebrated for its ancient, heavy limestone-marl (Kalkmergel) soils that straddle the boundary between the German Pfalz and French Alsace. This unique Franco-German heritage is reflected in the wine's style, blending French textural elegance with German structural precision.
