Named after the biological concept of development and life cycles, Ontogeny is winemaker Russell Bevan’s masterclass in blending, designed to showcase the holistic evolution of Napa Valley's finest vineyards. Rather than focusing on a single vineyard block, Ontogeny is a curated selection of barrels from legendary sites such as Tench, Sugarloaf Mountain, and Wildfoote. This proprietary red blend captures the opulent, hedonistic style that has made Bevan Cellars a cult legend. In the cellar, Bevan employs meticulous sorting, cold soaks, and aging in new French oak barrels to craft a wine of immense power, seamless texture, and remarkable purity. It stands as a liquid chronicle of a Napa Valley growing season, offering a lavish sensory experience defined by dark fruit, exotic spices, and velvety, fine-grained tannins.

Bevan Cellars blev grundlagt i 2005 af den anerkendte, autodidakte vinmager Russell Bevan og Victoria De Crescenzo og har siden etableret sig som en af Californiens mest prestigefyldte og topanmeldte kultproducenter. Vingården har base i Napa Valley og henter sine druer fra minutiøst udvalgte parceller på legendariske terroirs i både Napa og Sonoma – herunder eftertragtede marker i Oakville, Pritchard Hill og Bennett Valley.
