Hailing from the legendary Showket Vineyard, perched on the iron-rich, red volcanic slopes of eastern Oakville, this cuvée is a monument to Napa Valley's golden era of cult Cabernet. Winemaker Russell Bevan crafted the 'Babs Cuvee' as a deeply personal tribute to his mother, Barbara, selecting only the most opulent and texturally seamless barrels from the property. The vineyard's unique terroir—situated near esteemed neighbors like Dalla Valle—endows the wine with an extraordinary combination of lavish dark fruit, crushed rock minerality, and velvety tannins. Because the Showket Vineyard was later sold to Peter Michael Winery, these early Bevan bottlings have become highly sought-after collector's items, capturing a fleeting moment in Oakville's winemaking history.
