Perched high atop Sonoma Mountain at an elevation of 1,376 feet, the Summit 1376 vineyard provides the dramatic backdrop for this remarkably intense Pinot Noir. Winemaker Russell Bevan applies his signature opulent style to this cool-climate varietal, utilizing the extreme mountain terroir where vines struggle in thin soils and bask in intense high-altitude sunlight while remaining cooled by marine winds. This unique microclimate allows the grapes to achieve maximum physiological ripeness with thick skins, yielding a Pinot Noir of uncommon depth, muscular structure, and concentration. Crafted with meticulous fruit selection and aged in custom-toasted French oak, this wine challenges the traditional delicate boundaries of the grape, offering a voluptuous, velvety texture and a complex aromatic profile of dark fruits and exotic spices.

Bevan Cellars blev grundlagt i 2005 af den autodidakte vinmager Russell Bevan og opnåede lynhurtigt kultstatus på den californiske vinscene. Vingården er berømt for sin kompromisløst overdådige, hedonistiske og millimeterpræcise vinfremstilling. Bevan samarbejder tæt med førende drueavlere i de bedste mikroklimaer på tværs af Napa Valley og Sonoma County. Druerne hentes fra berømte terroirs, herunder Tench Vineyards røde vulkanske og alluviale jorde i det østlige Oakville, de stenede skråninger ved Sugarloaf Mountain samt kølige, kystnære parceller i Russian River Valley og Petaluma Gap. Markarbejdet er præget af bæredygtig drift og omhyggelig løvvægsstyring, hvor frugten først høstes ved perfekt fysiologisk modenhed. I kælderen arbejder Bevan ud fra princippet om minimal intervention med spontangæring, kompromisløs druesortering og skræddersyet fadlagring på fransk eg. Blandt husets referencevine findes enkeltmarks-Cabernet Sauvignoner fra Tench Vineyard og Sugarloaf Mountain, eksklusive rødvinsblends som Ontogeny og EE samt mundfyldende, spændstige Chardonnayer fra Sonoma Coast og Ritchie Vineyard.
