✨ wine.spec_sheet

Bollinger's PN VZ15 represents a significant chapter in the house's storied history, serving as the inaugural release of their terroir-focused PN Blanc de Noirs series. Crafted exclusively from Pinot Noir, this cuvée celebrates the unique character of the Grand Cru village of Verzenay, which forms the backbone of the blend, alongside contributions from Aÿ, Bouzy, and Tauxières. The 2015 base year was characterized by a warm, dry summer, yielding grapes of exceptional richness. True to Bollinger's traditional methods, a portion of the wine was fermented in old oak casks, and the blend incorporates reserve wines aged in magnums under cork—some dating back to 2009. This meticulous process results in a Champagne of remarkable depth, tension, and smoky minerality, reflecting both the chalky soils of Verzenay and Bollinger's signature style.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1829 in the historic village of Aÿ by Jacques Bollinger, Paul Renaudin, and Hennequin de Villermont, Champagne Bollinger is one of the region's most prestigious and fiercely independent family-owned houses. Renowned for its Pinot Noir-dominated blends and traditional production methods, Bollinger uniquely ferments its vintage wines in seasoned oak casks and maintains an extensive library of reserve wines aged in magnums under cork. The house's signature style is defined by its rich complexity, structure, and depth, best exemplified by legendary cuvées like Special Cuvée, La Grande Année, and the late-disgorged R.D. Additionally, Bollinger preserves a rare piece of viticultural history with its ungrafted, pre-phylloxera Pinot Noir vines used to produce the ultra-exclusive Vieilles Vignes Françaises.
