✨ Technical Specifications
Bollinger's PN VZ19 is a masterful expression of the house's signature grape, Pinot Noir, crafted to showcase the unique terroir of the Grand Cru village of Verzenay. This specific edition is built around the 2019 base vintage, a year of exceptional concentration and balance. Verzenay Pinot Noir is legendary for its chalky precision, vibrant acidity, and saline minerality, which beautifully tempers Bollinger's signature rich, oxidative house style. The blend incorporates older reserve wines, including some aged in Bollinger's famous magnum bottles, adding layers of complexity and depth. Vinified partly in old oak barrels and aged on its lees in the cool chalk cellars of Aÿ, this Blanc de Noirs carries on the legacy of Lily Bollinger, who famously championed the character of Pinot Noir in Champagne. It offers a captivating dialogue between the power of the grape and the cool, mineral-driven elegance of the northern Montagne de Reims.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1829 in the grand cru village of Aÿ by Hennequin de Villermont, Paul Renaudin, and Jacques Bollinger, Champagne Bollinger stands as one of the most revered and historic family-owned houses in the Champagne region of France. Built upon an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship, the estate is distinguished by its meticulous use of oak barrel fermentation, an on-site cooperage, and extensive cellar aging under natural cork. Pinot Noir forms the powerful, structured backbone of the house style, sourced predominantly from Bollinger's extensive holdings in premier and grand cru vineyards. The house is globally celebrated for its rich and complex cuvées, ranging from the signature Special Cuvée and vintage-dated La Grande Année to the legendary R.D. and the exceptionally rare, ungrafted Vieilles Vignes Françaises.
